If you are interested in coming to the United States to study and work, Aston American University’s US Career Prep Certificate program is your step towards taking you one step closer to your dream of studying/working in the US. The course teaches skill sets that build upon business communication and study/work practices.

Foster professional qualifications for employment in the United States with career preparation skills focused on professional development, career path decision-making, and business communications. The course offers two assessments: 1) to evaluate ones English language skills and 2) to explore potential career paths that analyze and match current skill sets. In addition, the course offers a personalized plan to guide career choices; be knowledgeable of real-world skills needed by US businesses (English proficiency, critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making, resume writing, and interview abilities); practice business English communications for communicating in the business environment; further postsecondary education or vocational training in the US; and a career services advisory, which introduces I-20 program partners for vocational training to experience life in the US before immigrating.

I-20 Visa Schools

      • Aston American University partners with vocational schools that issue I-20 visas in the areas of film production, programming, health and beauty professions such as nail salons and massage therapy, aviation, and others. These vocational programs are subject to US government I-20 visa requirements, and each program has its own admission requirements. Students must meet these requirements to be enrolled into the program.
      • Duration of study will depend on each individual program. Programs range from 1-month up to 1-year of study, and some may require a longer duration.
      • Pricing will depend on former experience, which professional school or area of study is chosen, and where to study. Tuition ranges from $3000 to $12,000. Some programs may exceed this pricing, for example, aviation flight time. A career counselor will advise students on how to research the full cost of interested programs.
